     Sónia Borges is an illustrator who works in both creative endeavors and education. Born in 1981 in Mirandela, she moved to Porto to study Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, graduating in 2004. Since then, illustration has been the vehicle she has found to give voice to what she feels, thinks, and sees. She has published more than 10 books, held solo exhibitions, and undertaken various projects where illustration reigns supreme. Notable among these are the Aldear em Barrô project with the Burilar artistic collective, where she developed a tile mural, by and for the community (2023); the map that he illustrated for the live workshops led by Paula Preto as part of the ViViFicar project, organized and produced by the Ci.Clo platform (2022); the Out of the Box (Re) Thinking Mental Health, by the Matiz de Mirandela Association, for which he developed illustrations and videos for its content (2021) and the Activity Sheets for Families around the exhibitions for the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Serralves Foundation (2014-2020).
